City of Prescott, Wisconsin seeking Police Chief

September 11, 2018

The City of Prescott, Wisconsin (pop. 4,253) seeks an experienced and engaged law enforcement professional to lead our Police Department.

Located in Western Wisconsin on the confluence of the St. Croix and Mississippi Rivers, Prescott is a center for water and outdoor recreation. A thoughtful, fiscally conservative community, Prescott can boast of a progressive, well developed community. We take pride in our excellent local schools, retail and dining opportunities and our many community minded service organizations. With a close-knit small town atmosphere, Prescott is a great place to live, work and play while offering convenient access to the metropolitan amenities of the Twin Cities areas.

The City of Prescott Chief of Police is responsible for a community-minded department of 8 fulltime and 2 part-time sworn officers with 1 administrative assistant operating on a $1.1 million annual budget. The Department focuses on proactive, problem-oriented policing and has strong established relationships with area law enforcement as well as State and Federal agencies.

The Chief of Police is engaged in community organizations and is an active member of the City’s management team, supporting the entire organization’s efforts to serve the Prescott community while advocating for constant improvement of the City’s law enforcement resources.
