The City of Edgerton, Wisconsin (pop. 5,613) seeks an experienced and engaged law enforcement professional to lead its Police Department. Edgerton is an attractive place to live and work being located in the fast growing I-90 corridor amid the rolling countryside of South Central Wisconsin with an excellent school system, a hospital, various recreational opportunities, and many community minded service organizations. With a close-knit small city atmosphere, Edgerton has convenient access to the metropolitan amenities of Madison and Janesville; the University of Wisconsin; and various other institutions of higher education.

This is a full-time exempt position that oversees the operations and activities of the City of Edgerton Police Department. The City of Edgerton Chief of Police is responsible for a community-minded department consisting of two Lieutenants, seven patrol officers and 1.5 administrative assistants, operating on a $1.2 million annual budget. The Department focuses on proactive, community-oriented policing and has strong established relationships with the City’s management team and area law enforcement, as well as State and Federal agencies.
