Attendee registration for the 2018 WPLF Summer Training being held August 5th – 8th at the KI Convention Center in Green Bay, WI is now open!

We are pleased to announce that this Conference is being provided in partnership with the Wisconsin Dept. of Justice and Attorney General’s Office with the mission to provide both Law Enforcement Executives and School District Officials with the training needed to help them better protect their schools through crisis prevention, response and recovery.

To support the ability for both WCPA Members and School District Officials to register for the Conference we had to use a new online registration service. To register to attend the Conference, you MUST visit https://wplf.regfox.com/summer-2018 and enter registration code: “WPLF2018” when prompted.

On Monday, August 6th the Conference will feature a special, all-day School Safety Best Practices, Reunification at Sandy Hook: Reuniting Families in the Aftermath of a School Crisis” presentation provided by Michele Gay and Dr. Melissa A. Reeves representatives of the organization “Safe & Sound Schools: A Sandy Hook Initiative.”  “Safe & Sound Schools” was formed by parents, educators and community members inspired by their children and educators who perished on December 14th, 2012 at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT who had united in a mission to better protect all schools. Since its inception in the wake of tragedy the “Safe & Sound Schools” organization has grown; and its resolve is continually being strengthened through the support of school communities, school safety experts, mental health, fire and law enforcement professionals across the country. On Tuesday, August 7th the Conference will feature a half-day of presentations relating to school safety and protection as follows:

  • Safe Schools Legislation & New Department of Justice School Safety Coordinator Update” presented by WI Attorney General Brad Schimel (invited)
  • Legal Updates for Chiefs & School District Officials with Discussion Panel” presented by Attorney Kyle Guyla & Jim Korom (von Briesen & Roper S.C.) with Moderated Panel of Law Enforcement Executives and School District Officials
  • New School Safety Mapping Technology” presented by Collaborative Response Graphics (CRG)

NOTE: The training presentations for the remainder of Tuesday and on Wednesday, August 8th are for Law Enforcement Executives ONLY.  The presentation scheduled for Tuesday afternoon is the “Las Vegas Shooting Review” presented by Sgt. Branden Clarkson of the Las Vegas Metro Police Dept. Wednesday’s training will feature “Legal Update” presentations by WI Asst. Attorney General Dave Perlman and Attorney Kyle Guyla.  

Our schools are best protected when local Law Enforcement and School District Officials work together.  Therefore, we are requesting our Association Members to please forward this email and the attached to their local School District Officials right away, so they can register and join us for this event.

The Conference registration fee for School District Officials to attend the all-day presentation on Monday and the half-day of presentations on Tuesday is $125.00/person and includes lunch and refreshments served during breaks in the Conference Exhibition Hall. School District Official attendees will also be provided with the option to attend the “Host Chief’s Night” event scheduled for Monday evening.

The “Host Chief’s Night” event will be hosted at Lambeau Field’s Johnsonville Tailgate Village (complimentary shuttle bus transportation provided). In addition to complimentary food and beverages those attending “Host Chiefs Night” will be provided with exclusive access to the Pro-Shop and free access to the Green Bay Packer’s Hall of Fame exhibit (a $15.00 value) located within Lambeau Field’s atrium.
