2021 WPLF Mid-Winter Conference
Safe and Healthy Initiative

Our “Safe and Healthy Initiative” will help you participate in training and networking while keeping safety in mind. While there are risks associated with attending an event during a pandemic, these procedures have been created to minimize those risks for you and your team. We will continue to update these initiatives based on federal, state, and local mandates and recommendations.

We have a shared responsibility and respectfully ask you to adopt these practices to help protect the health of participating members and staff, and our employees. We have extensively conferred with the Sauk County Health Department and Kalahari Hotel and Conference Center to determine best practices to hold this training event.

We will be mandating the following practices for all attendees:

  • Mask wearing while in the conference center is mandatory (This will be strictly enforced)
  • Masks must meet or exceed CDC Guidelines
  • If you have a medical condition that precludes wearing a mask, we ask that you do not attend
  • Attendees will be expected to keep social distancing
  • Attendees who are feeling ill or are exhibiting any symptoms of COVID based upon the current CDC Guidelines shall not attend.
  • If an attendee becomes ill or symptomatic while at the conference, they should notify WCPA Staff or board member and immediately leave the conference.

We recommend the following for all participants:

  • If you have any medical condition that could be aggravated by COVID we ask that you do not attend
  • Wash your hands frequently
  • Please consider public health guidelines when gathering outside of the conference

What we are doing:

We have worked extensively with the Kalahari to accommodate healthy practices, including but limited to:

  • Our group will be the only group in ALL of the convention space at the Kalahari. Therefore, meeting rooms, expo hall, and events setup to help facilitate physical distancing
  • Expanding room size for all events to maintain 25% capacity  Click HERE to see seating charts
  • Attendee registrations will be capped at 320 people to maintain recommended occupancy levels
  • Exhibitors will also be limited
  • Convenient hand sanitizer stations throughout the conference area
  • Pipe and drape for expo booths to enhance separation
  • All meals will be plated and served by hotel staff
  • Snacks will be either pre-packaged or distributed by the hotel staff

What the Kalahari is doing:

In addition to the above, the Kalahari has put precautions in place. You can see the Kalahari’s plan on their website: Click HERE for more information.
