Presidents' s Welcome

Chief Steven Roux

I would like to welcome you to the Wisconsin Chiefs of Police Association (WCPA) website, and hope that you find the information to be of value. The WCPA, which is comprised of over 800 law enforcement executives throughout Wisconsin, was created in 1907. For over 100 years, our leaders and members have continually strived to improve our profession.

If you are a member of the WCPA, I want to thank you for the trust that you have placed in me by electing me as the 115th President. I look forward to the challenges of the upcoming year. I specifically look forward to opportunities to focus on mental health reform and pro law enforcement initiatives, such as legislative efforts tailored to recruit and retain quality officers. For the past several decades, Wisconsin law enforcement leaders have gained a national reputation for the advancements that we have advocated for in accountability measures and training of our member agencies. This year will be no different.

The WCPA exists to assist law enforcement leaders in Wisconsin by providing educational opportunities, mentorship, advocating for appropriate legislation, and by providing a network in which Chiefs can learn from each other.

The WCPA has been successful because of our talented and dedicated staff members, as well as our Directors and Association Officers. We are truly lucky to work alongside such professional and driven individuals.

If you are a member, I strongly encourage you to get involved in the Association through one of our many committees, or by attending our conferences. The WCPA is only as strong as our members and their willingness to serve.

If you are not a member of our Association, if you find an opportunity, please thank a law enforcement officer. Unexpected words of thanks mean more than you will ever know.
