President's Welcome
Chief Dean Smith

Welcome you to the Wisconsin Chiefs of Police Association (WCPA) website, and I hope that you find the information here to be of value. The WCPA, which is comprised of over 800 law enforcement executives throughout Wisconsin, was created in 1907. For over 100 years, our leaders and members have continually strived to improve our profession.

As the 116th President of the WCPA I would be remiss if I did not thank the membership for placing their trust in me by electing me to this role. The upcoming year promises to be exciting as we face the challenges and opportunities that present themselves to us collectively. Together we will accomplish a lot. Divided we would never reach our full potential as an organization. I am confident in the strength of our Association to move forward in the coming year.

I believe that there is no more passionate leaders in law enforcement than those who are members of the WCPA. Our collective experiences define the greatness of our profession here in Wisconsin.

The WCPA exists to assist law enforcement leaders in Wisconsin by providing educational opportunities, mentorship, advocating for appropriate legislation, and by providing a network in which Chiefs can learn from each other.

We have a responsibility as an organization to continue to grow public awareness of our professionalism and expertise that we possess. As well as supporting our officers who are the backbone of the successes our agencies enjoy. We must also continue to advocate for legislation that positively impacts our communities and law enforcement across the state.

The WCPA has been successful because of our talented and dedicated staff members, as well as our Directors and Association Officers. We are truly lucky to work alongside such professional and driven individuals.

If you are a member, I strongly encourage you to get involved in the Association through one of our many committees, or by attending our conferences. The WCPA is only as strong as our members and their willingness to serve.
